Formed in 1993 in St. John's, Newfoundland, the band originally consisted of Steve Hennessey (vocals), Dan Moore (guitar), Sterling Robertson (guitar), Paul Grouchy (bass), and Ren Squires (drums). Throughout their career, they've undergone lineup changes, with Keith Foley replacing Grouchy on bass in 1996. sHeavy's music is often compared to the likes of Black Sabbath, due to their heavy riffs and Hennessey's Ozzy Osbourne-esque vocal style.
