About

Shootyz Groove is a dynamic band hailing from the Bronx, New York, known for their innovative blend of funk rock, rap metal, rap rock, and nu metal. Formed in 1992, the group features MCs Sense and Season, who drive the band's energetic vocal delivery. Originally, the lineup included guitarist Donny, bassist Spec, and drummer Dose, though changes over time saw Paul "Freak Love" take over on bass. Shootyz Groove carved a niche for themselves in the '90s music scene, creating a unique sound that bridges the aggressive energy of hip-hop with the intensity of hardcore and heavy metal.

How to Sound Like Shootyz Groove

Shootyz Groove's sound is characterized by its aggressive yet groovy fusion of genres, combining the rhythmic intensity of rap with the raw power of metal. The dual MCs deliver rapid-fire rhymes that interplay with distorted guitar riffs and funk-driven basslines. To capture their vibrant sound, focus on a tight, punchy drum kit that maintains the high energy typical of live hip-hop performances. Use high-gain amps to achieve the gritty, overdriven guitar tones, complemented by wah pedals for added texture and funkiness. The bass should be both bold and buoyant, anchoring the grooves while leaving space for percussive elements to drive the momentum. Embracing these elements will help in emulating Shootyz Groove’s distinct and electrifying sound.
