Smif‐n‐Wessun is a pioneering hip hop duo hailing from Brownsville, Brooklyn, known for their gritty, streetwise narratives and infectious beats. Comprising Tek (Tekomin Williams) and Steele (Darrell Yates), the group emerged in the early '90s during hip hop's golden era. They are celebrated for their contributions to the East Coast hip hop and boom bap genres, often infusing their music with a distinct dancehall flavor. Smif‐n‐Wessun first made waves as part of the Boot Camp Clik collective, and their debut album, Dah Shinin', is regarded as a classic in the realm of old school hip hop.
