Techniques Berlin is a Canadian musical group originating from Toronto, formed by high school friends Andreas Gregor and David Rout in 1984. The band explores genres such as synthpop, post-punk, deathrock, EBM, darkwave, and cold wave, crafting a sound that blends addictive electropop melodies with alternative beats. Initially influenced by UK new romantic acts like Japan and Depeche Mode, as well as Canadian synthpop bands like Rational Youth and Men Without Hats, Techniques Berlin developed their style over time, mastering synthesizers, drum machines, and guitars. The group expanded in 2013 to include Dina Naskos, who contributes as a keyboardist and backing vocalist.

Techniques Berlin's sound is characterized by lush synth textures and rhythmic electronic beats that maintain a balance between melodic and moody.
