How to Sound Like Tenement

Tenement’s sound is characterized by its gritty and energetic punk aesthetic, balanced with melodic power pop sensibilities. Their sonic palette is aggressive yet accessible, marked by crunchy guitar riffs that often utilize overdrive pedals for a raw, biting tone. The bass lines are punchy and driving, providing a solid backbone that complements the frenetic guitar work. Drumming in Tenement’s music is both forceful and dynamic, adding to their high-energy performances. To capture their sound, musicians might focus on utilizing simple but effective effects like overdrive and distortion, paired with high-gain tube amplifiers to achieve that classic punk intensity. The band's recordings also exhibit a DIY ethos, with production that maintains a live, raw feel — an approach that aspiring musicians can emulate with straightforward recording techniques and minimal post-processing.
