The Birds were a British garage rock band that emerged from the vibrant music scene of Yiewsley in West London during the mid-1960s. Known for their hard-edged R&B sound, the group included Ronnie Wood (guitar, harmonica, vocals), who later gained fame with the Faces and the Rolling Stones, Tony Munroe (guitar, vocals), Kim Gardner (bass), Bob Langham (drums), later replaced by Pete Hocking (aka Pete McDaniels), and Ali McKenzie (lead vocals). Despite their brief recording career, they left a mark with their energetic performances and a style akin to contemporaries like The Who and The Yardbirds, blending elements of garage rock, northern soul, and proto-punk.
