About

The Chariot was a chaotic force in the world of hardcore music, hailing from Douglasville, Georgia. Formed in 2003 by former Norma Jean frontman Josh Scogin, the band carved out a niche in the genres of screamo, post-hardcore, metalcore, and chaotic hardcore. Over the years, the band went through numerous lineup changes but maintained a core of talented musicians, including Keller Harbin (guitar, vocals), Tony Medina (guitar), Joshua Beiser (bass), and Jeff Carter (drums) in its initial formation. Known for their intense live performances and raw, unfiltered sound, The Chariot released several influential albums under the Christian hardcore and Christian metal umbrellas, notably through Solid State Records.

How to Sound Like The Chariot

The Chariot's sonic landscape is defined by its aggressive, raw energy, and chaotic structure. Their music is an abrasive cocktail of relentless guitar riffs and frenetic drumming, where clarity takes a backseat to intensity and emotion. The use of instruments like the Gibson Les Paul Special and the Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Baritone Guitar contributes to their rugged, distorted sound. Effects pedals also play a significant role in shaping their chaotic soundscape; the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver adds a gritty edge, while the Electro-Harmonix POG2 Polyphonic Octave Generator injects an eerie, otherworldly dimension. This amalgamation of aggressive tones and dynamic effects creates a visceral listening experience, making The Chariot's sound a relentless onslaught that's both cathartic and exhilarating.
