The Humblebums were a Scottish folk group known for their blend of baroque pop and comedy-infused folk music. Originating from Glasgow, the group was initially formed in 1965 by Billy Connolly (vocals, guitar) and Tam Harvey (guitar). The duo's performances were marked by Connolly's humorous banter, which became a significant part of their act. The lineup expanded with the addition of Gerry Rafferty (vocals, guitar), whose songwriting prowess introduced a pop sensibility to their music. This trio configuration led to their most prominent works, with Rafferty's influence steering the band towards more complex musical arrangements until the group disbanded in the early 1970s.
