About

The Lowest Pair is an Americana and indie folk duo originating from the vibrant music scene of Olympia, Washington. Formed in 2013, the group consists of Kendl Winter (vocals, banjo, guitar) from Arkansas and Palmer T. Lee (vocals, banjo, guitar) from Minneapolis. Their music is an intricate blend of bluegrass, folk, and southern gothic, characterized by harmonious vocal interplay and masterful banjo work. Drawing influences from both the lush landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and the rich musical traditions of the Midwest, The Lowest Pair crafts a sound that resonates with authenticity and heartfelt storytelling.

How to Sound Like The Lowest Pair

To capture the sound of The Lowest Pair, musicians should focus on creating an organic and intimate acoustic atmosphere. Their sound is deeply rooted in melodic and rhythmic banjo playing, complemented by warm, fingerpicked guitar textures. Utilizing open tunings can add a resonant, earthy quality to the strings, while dynamic vocal harmonies bring emotional depth to their songs. Analog recording techniques and minimal post-processing help maintain the raw and natural feel of their music. To emulate their vibe, consider using acoustic instruments with a rich, woody tone and experiment with natural reverb to emulate the spaciousness of live performances in intimate settings.
