About
The Rattles are a German rock band that emerged from the vibrant Hamburg music scene of the early 1960s. They are known for their eclectic blend of rock, pop rock, psychedelic rock, hard rock, beat music, and krautrock. The band was formed by Achim Reichel (guitar, vocals), Herbert Hildebrandt (bass, vocals), Dicky Tarrach (drums), and Bernd Schulz (guitar, vocals). Although they achieved considerable success in Germany, their energetic and soulful sound echoed the influence of the Liverpool sound that dominated the era.
How to Sound Like The Rattles
The Rattles' sound is characterized by robust, melodic rock with a touch of psychedelia. Their music often features a balance of vintage warmth and rhythmic drive, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and invigorating. Achim Reichel's use of the Gretsch Duo Jet and Gibson Les Paul Vintage helped craft their dynamic guitar tones, while his Gibson EH-185 amplifier provided a rich, tube-driven foundation. The interplay of rhythmic guitar riffs and melodic bass lines, supported by the punchy beats of the Wonderland Custom Drum Set, defines their energetic and engaging style. The Rattles' music captures the spirit of rock with a blend of catchy hooks and a driving beat, appealing to fans of both classic and modern rock genres.
