The Stanley Brothers were a seminal American bluegrass duo originating from Dickenson County, Virginia. Comprising Ralph Stanley (banjo, tenor vocals) and Carter Stanley (guitar, lead vocals), the group was pivotal in shaping the bluegrass genre with their traditional mountain music influences.
