About

The Storm is a Danish pop rock band founded by the dynamic duo of Pernille Rosendahl (vocals) and Johan Wohlert (bass). Drawing from their rich musical backgrounds—Rosendahl as the former frontwoman of Swan Lee and Wohlert from the band Mew—The Storm debuted with their album Where the Storm Meets the Ground, which quickly climbed to number two on the Danish album charts. Their music is a captivating blend of pop sensibilities and rock energy, characterized by powerful vocals, driving bass lines, and anthemic melodies that resonate with a wide audience.

How to Sound Like The Storm

The sound of The Storm is both polished and energetic, combining clean, melodic guitar lines with powerful, rhythmic bass and dynamic drumming. The band’s use of crisp cymbal accents—such as the Zildjian A Custom 20" Ping Ride and Zildjian 14" A Quick Beat Hi Hats employed by drummer Ron Wikso—adds a shimmering layer to their tracks, enhancing the overall texture. This blend of bright percussion and tight instrumentation creates a sound that is both vibrant and accessible, making it ideal for capturing the essence of modern pop rock with a distinctly Scandinavian flair.
