About

The Wedding is an American Christian rock band originating from Fayetteville, Arkansas, known for their energetic blend of Christian punk, alternative rock, and emo influences. The group initially formed during the members' high school years, with the original lineup featuring Kevin Kiehn (vocals, keyboards), Trevor Sarver (guitar), Cody Driggers (bass), and Clint Robinson (drums). Over time, the band experienced some lineup changes, notably with Joe "Rattlesnake" Rickard taking over on drums and Jeremy Ervin rejoining as bassist, allowing Driggers to switch to guitar. The Wedding gained traction in the Christian music scene with their debut album in 2005, followed by subsequent releases that have cemented their place in the genre.

How to Sound Like The Wedding

The Wedding’s sound is characterized by high-energy guitar riffs and emotive vocal delivery, often layered with driving rhythms and punchy bass lines. Their music tends to balance the raw edge of punk with the melodic sensibilities of alternative rock, creating a sound that's both aggressive and accessible. To capture their style, consider using overdriven guitars through tube amplifiers to achieve a warm, saturated tone. Dynamic drumming and crisp, clear vocal production are also essential, providing the intensity and clarity that define their tracks. Effects like distortion and chorus pedals can add texture and depth, while maintaining a tight, cohesive mix ensures the energy of their live performances translates well to recordings.
