About
TREMOURS is a Los Angeles-based musical duo known for their ethereal blend of dream pop and shoegaze. Formed in 2021, the group comprises Lauren Andino (guitar) and Glenn Fryatt (drums). Their collaboration began during late-night jam sessions, with Andino's hazy, drifting guitar work intertwining seamlessly with Fryatt's urgent, pulsating rhythms. Andino, originally from South Carolina, has previously played with LSD And The Search For God and toured with L.A. Witch, while Fryatt, hailing from Portsmouth, England, has been a drummer for acts like Cherubs and The Montrose Avenue. Together, they explore themes of loneliness and introspection, drawing inspiration from a diverse array of influences, including shoegaze, jazz, and electronica.
How to Sound Like TREMOURS
To achieve the lush and enveloping sound characteristic of TREMOURS, focus on creating a sonic palette that balances ambient, reverb-soaked guitar tones with dynamic, rhythmic drumming. Andino's guitar work typically employs layers of reverb and delay effects to craft a drifting, dreamlike quality, while modulation effects add texture and depth. Fryatt's drumming provides a counterbalance with its driving, yet nuanced approach, often using techniques that incorporate both precision and flair to maintain energy without overwhelming the mix. This interplay of atmospheric guitars and rhythmic drums creates a sound that is simultaneously expansive and intimate, perfect for capturing the duo's contemplative and emotive musical landscape.
