About
Vandaveer is an indie folk ensemble with roots in Washington, D.C., led by singer/songwriter Mark Charles Heidinger. Known for their blend of folk rock and southern gothic, the group initially began as Heidinger's solo project but evolved into a collaborative effort with the addition of Rose Guerin as a full-time member since 2009. Their music often features a rich interplay of Heidinger's songwriting and Guerin's harmonies, with contributions from musicians like Robby Cosenza, Justin Craig, and J. Tom Hnatow. The band has explored a wide sonic palette, ranging from lo-fi acoustic settings to more expansive, country and Americana-inspired productions, often working with Kentucky-based producer Duane Lundy.
