About

Vulcano is a pioneering Brazilian metal band known for their aggressive fusion of thrash metal, death metal, speed metal, and black metal. Emerging from the early '80s metal scene, the group was spearheaded by Zhema Rodero (bass, guitar, and chief songwriter), who initially formed the band in Osasco before relocating to Santos. Over the years, Vulcano has seen numerous lineup changes, but key members have included Paulo Magrão (guitar), Johnny Hansen (guitar), Renato Pelado (drums), Angel (vocals), Soto Júnior (guitar), Zé Flávio (guitar), and Laudir Piloni (drums). Their music is characterized by its raw intensity and has earned them a cult status among extreme metal enthusiasts worldwide.

How to Sound Like Vulcano

Vulcano's sound is fiercely raw and aggressive, characterized by distorted guitar riffs and rapid, driving rhythms. To emulate their sound, musicians should focus on achieving a heavy, saturated guitar tone, often associated with high-gain amplifiers and overdrive pedals. The band's music is marked by a relentless tempo, supported by fast, intricate drum patterns that require precision and power, often utilizing double bass techniques. The vocals are typically harsh and forceful, adding to the dark, visceral energy of their music. To replicate Vulcano's atmosphere, consider using low tuning and minimal effects, focusing instead on the raw power and speed that define their unique blend of metal genres.
