Anybody got some info about Vinny Roberts?
Hi everyone!

This is my old "Vinny roberts" archtop guitar. As far as i know it's a vintage Kay K1 rebranded as vinny roberts, probably from 1953 or so (i've got an old catalog from that era that has the same exact guitar only branded as Kay). No truss rod but reinforced with steel and very thick neck. 17" width body, spruce top and maple curved back (at least thats what the catalog says)
I really love this guitar, and i use it like my main acoustic (dont hate me), it just feels right.
I was wondering if anyone has some info about vinny roberts, i know he was a music instructor or something like that, but theres not much info in the internet. I'm just curious to know more history about this guitar and his "brand".

What string gauges does everyone use?
I use almost every time 10-46, i was using the D'addario's XL but now i've changed to SIT strings Power Wound, i really love how they sound and feel.
For some little time i used 9-42, i was having a hard time with tendonitis on my left hand.
If i go to a lower tunning (every once in a while) i put 11's.
And for the acoustics i use 10-47, as light as i can get

Can anyone identify the guitar Chuck Berry has in this image
hey nick ! thats an old 1949 Epiphone Century Archtop Electric Hollowbody Guitar. I've found another photo just like yours that shows the headstock, and instantly recognized the epiphone old logo.
