Great tone, Enough power to rock a stadium!
I have been playing bass for over 20 years and this is the first tube head I have ever owned. It was well worth the money. It has the great Ampeg tone. Very clear and punchy and you can get some good grit by diming the master volume and controlling the volume with the gain knob. It is not the old school SVT sound but it is definitely a great Ampeg tube tone. It has more power than you will ever need at 300 tube watts. The only negative I have for this head is the 80+ pounds that it weighs lol. More than happy with this head though.

Love this cab
This is my 1978 Ampeg B25-B 215 bass cab. I dropped 2 Eminence BETA15A speakers in it as the original ones were only rated to handle a 50 watt head. The design and construction of this cab just pumps out huge low end... I love it!

WOW! I have owned 3 different B25 heads. I never came across the matching cab though. So cool! If I still owned a B25 I would totally GIVE it to you just to see the set completed. And the B25 is a very loud 50 watts. Want a great abss sound? Get yourself a B25 and a Fender Bassman 50 and daisy chain them.... best of both worlds 70s bass sound!

Were the original 25 to 30 watt 15"s CTS ceramic speakers? If so the Eminence are a good replacement as former CTS employees founded Eminence.

Yeah I was stoked when I saw the cab. Had never seen one. I have the Ampeg BT-25 which is the solid state version of the B25. I want to get a B25 to complete the set eventually. Also the original speakers were the CTS ceramic ones. They were in almost mint condition too. I have them packed and stored away.

You used to be able to scoop up B25 heads all day at guitar shows for $300 or less depending on cosmetic condition. I don't know what they're worth in todays market, but probably not much. They are a surprisingly loud 50 watts. The circuit is like a hybrid of an old portaflex and a 70s v-series amp. Really great sound for bass OR guitar. Just a heads up, it used to be that you couldn't find the 7072A power tubes for these amps (which are an EXTREMELY overspeced military 6L6GC variant), but not JJ has released a 6L6GC that can handle way more plate voltage than any other current production 6L6 and those hold up well in place of vintage 7027As in 70s ampeg models, so no fears retubing if you manage to acquire a B25 for yourself.... hang onto those CTS 15" speakers, they sound great in certain fender combos and cabinets.
