Asken Guitars is a Los Angeles-based custom guitar shop and repair studio founded by luthier Fren Asken, who has been working on guitars since 1975 and went full-time in 2004. Operating out of a workshop on Robertson Boulevard, the shop handles everything from routine setups and pickup swaps to complex acoustic restorations, neck resets, and refinishing work. Asken Guitars is an authorized installer of the Evertune Bridge, Buzz Feiten Tuning System, and Kinman Pickups, and also offers True Temperament System installations.

Beyond repair work, Asken Guitars produces original hand-built electric guitars, with the Intercooler, Intercooler H2 Drop Top, and Sapphire as its signature models. These instruments are built around a "fat neck" design philosophy aimed at making the guitar feel so natural it becomes invisible to the player. Fren Asken trained under master luthier Michael DeTemple, whose construction approach shaped the shop's building methods.

The shop's client list includes artists and bands such as Coldplay, Guns N' Roses, Arctic Monkeys, Smashing Pumpkins, St. Vincent, Blink-182, Phil X, Richie Sambora, Steve Stevens, Dwight Yoakam, and Devin Townsend, among many others. Grammy-winning LA session guitarist Andrew Synowiec plays an Asken Intercooler H2V Drop Top. Asken Guitars has been featured in Guitar Player Magazine, Premier Guitar, Guitar World, and was named by the LA Weekly as one of the ten best guitar repair shops in Los Angeles.
