Rain Computers is an American manufacturer of purpose-built PCs for music production, audio engineering, video editing, and other creative applications. Founded in Ringwood, New Jersey by Kevin R. Jacoby and William M. Paschick, the company built its reputation on the concept of "Accountability of Use" — the idea that a single company should take full responsibility for delivering a complete, production-ready computing solution. Rain's systems are sold through major retailers including Best Buy, Guitar Center, and Amazon, and are tested and certified for compatibility with industry-standard software such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, Native Instruments, and Serato.
Rain's product lineup spans several form factors. The ION series consists of rackmount workstations housed in laser-etched aluminum chassis, aimed at professional studios running Pro Tools HD and similar DAWs. The Nimbus series offers desktop workstations in all-aluminum Cooler Master Mystique cases, available in audio, video, and multimedia configurations. The Element series provides desktop PCs in Cooler Master Wave Master cases, while the LiveBook line targets mobile musicians, DJs, and engineers with laptop workstations optimized for live performance and field recording. The compact Event Mini rounds out the range for smaller studio setups. All systems feature Rain's signature "Quiet Cool Design," which combines aluminum construction, acoustic dampening materials, and elastic-mounted drive cradles to minimize noise, heat, and audio interference.
Rain Recording LTD, the company's UK and European subsidiary, operates out of Norfolk, England under Robin Vincent, a co-creator of the Carillon AC1 audio PC and author of "PC Music - The Easy Guide." Rain notably provided custom-built PCs for The Beatles LOVE show by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, running Tascam GigaStudio systems.
