Product Description Harmonium usually belongs to the family of free-reed aerophones. The instrument is a small, tabletop size, organ which has bellows at the back that is pumped by one hand while the other hand plays the keyboard. A standard Harmonium always has a wooden box known as body, handles to move the instrument, bellows, keys, stops (main and drone), reeds, reed board, coupler and scale changer. Today in India it is widely used in all forms of Indian music be it classical, Hindustani, devotional or film music. A high quality Harmonium with full sound range and keyboard has 39 keys and thus supplies a tonal range of 3 octaves, 4 adjustable drones are possible. The Double reeds make sure that every tone is supplied with two reeds (for medium and lower octave). Three variations with different settings can be achieved by blowing the reeds either separately or together. Bollywood Harmonium: This is one of our finest sampled “Harmonium” Virtual Instrument. Pristinely recorded at Beatfactory Studios New Delhi by Music Producer, Gaurav Dayal and Studio Engineer, Rajat Nagpal. Equipment Used:Equipments-used Wunder Audio PEQ1R – Neve Clone EQ/ Pre Amp, for the polished silky, clear ,transformer sound. Light Compression was used to record each note at multiple velocities using the Empirical Labs Distressor. The Sound was then Digitized using The Finest most musical A/D Converters: The Apogee Symphony System. The Instrument was Stereo Mic’ed and the positions were changed for capturing each note sonically accurately and keeping a beautiful stereo image intact using a pair of AKG C414s. Operation Switches: Octave Switch: This switch in the (ON -Right) Position Switches on an additional Layer of Harmonium one octave below. This makes the sound much thicker and gives it more Bass. KeyNoise: This switch in the (ON -Right) Position adds the natural sound of the harmonium keys, each individually sampled for a real effect, making the sound very realistic, as when you would record a real harmonium with microphones. Wind: This switch in the (ON -Right) Position triggers the “PUMP” sound of the Harmonium Wind Bar. Great when playing chords or Stabs with the instrument. Legato: This mode puts the Harmonium in an Authentic “Legato” – Monophonic mode. Great for playing the instrument as a Lead instrument. This sounds especially great for riffs and fast passages. Attack: This switch in the (ON -Right) Position makes the Harmonium Behave like a fast attack instrument, removing the natural latency the instrument has before it produces sound. This mode is especially good for fast chords and leads. Moreover it also makes the instrument behave like another reed instrument, namely the organ, giving another diverse character to the sound EFFECTS KNOBS: Chorus: This knob when turned right, can dial in a beautiful chorus modulation sound, making the sound thicker, and in extreme settings , it can make the instrument sound almost like an accordion. Stereo Width: When in the extreme left position, the instrument sound panorama is completely in the center. this is useful for the plainest sound keeping the image mono, and in the center. As the Knob is turned right, the spacial dimension of the sound of the instrument expands, using info from the stereo micing. It is totally up to the used to keep as wide a sound as needed. Even in the extreme right position, the sound is still mono compatible, so it will never phase out or sound weird in a recording when it is put in mono mode (i.e. both left and right channels are mixed together) Distortion: This knob when turned right, can dial in 2nd Harmonic Distortion, bringing thickness, brilliance and excitement to the sound. This sounds great even when in the extreme setting, keeping the instrument musical always. Reverb: This is a Nice Room Reverb that is built into the instrument, upon increasing the wet signal (moving the wet knob to the right), the sound becomes more distant and has a larger reflection to it giving it space and even more dimension. The Dry Control and the Wet control can be used together to shape the sound as per the users desire. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ?
