Running an 8 ohm min head through a 16 ohm max speaker
I decided that I am going to buy a Boss Katana 100 mk 2 head with a peavey 1x12 cab, but and it says 8 ohm minimum but the cab says 16 ohms maximum so i need to know if I should run the head through to that speaker

I'm pretty sure there's also the Randall RG1003H which is good for getting RG100ES style tones, but it just sucks that they went from $300 to $650

It sounds like it's really good for getting good classic rock tones. I've always thought the concept building your own pedals and amps is really cool.

Yea, I will try to check out the album soon. I think I'll like it a lot.

On the first link, that distorted tone is really good. The superlead tone is awesome.

Thanks for putting the links on the post I liked the songs and also the guitar tone on the songs. They were helpful for getting a good layout of the tone of the amps.

Yea I hope to try the cub UK with something like an sd-1 or a tube screamer for a boost because I feel like if I just use a Hardwire/Digitech TL-2 into the amp it would sound bad but with a boost into the distortion of the amp I would be able to get a pretty good 70's/80's metal tone but it's mainly just experimenting with what sounds best to me.

Thank you recommending me quilter because I looked at Quilter aviator cub uk on their website and it said in the description for it that it's try to replicate the sound of the marshall jmp which has been used by people like Adrian Smith, Randy Rhoads, and James Hetfield. But it's also really good for cleans so it's probably very versatile and good to use with pedals because it's also trying to replicate the ac sound so it's on my list for amps to decide between buying.

Thank you for reminding me about solid state randalls though, especially because they are at pretty good prices and you can find them for even better prices on reverb so maybe I will think about buying good used randall with a good priced cabinet.

My bad, I should've been more specific. When I said I want a pedal platform amp for metal, what I should've said was a pedal platform amp That is great for cleans with chorus and also good for metal.

I looked at quilters website and I saw the amp you were talking about and I'm sure it sounds awesome but I'm trying to get a tone for metal kinda like Pantera/Metallica

Thank you very much for giving me some more advice on trying to find a good amp. I will try to take good advice from you and jimmarchi1 on what amp sounds best and applies most to the sound that I wanna get. Also I'm trying to get an amp for bedroom/band playing.

Thanks I will try to do what you said about trying the amps with my pedals so i can see if it's a good pedal platform or not.

Yeah I've been thinking about buying used gear but I'm also thinking about buying what you said, the Vox AC10 but I'm also Looking at the boss Katana Because I've heard that that's also a great pedal plaform

I just felt like asking you guys a question.
Tell me what is on your guy's pedalboards.

I am trying to find an amp that is $600 and under, and that is also a great pedal platform.
