this is my first and only bass guitar, and it's a very reliable piece of tool. the electronics sound exactly as you'd expect a jazz bass to sound. MY PERSONAL BASS is fretless as i have removed the frets, but the regular model is fretted. the fretwork is fine and easy to navigate around and feels highly satisfying to shove your fingers between

the only thing that could possibly make it not an attractive buy is the scale length may not be appropriate for softer musical styles requiring a less aggressive sound, or for styles where the strings need to be longer to have more of a piano bass kind of tone. most musicians aren't djent or d'angelo ripoffs, so this bass will work just fine
