Great little amp with tons of character
I'VE HAD ONE OF THESE BABIES IN MY STUDIO FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS. Had the F-caps replaced and tubes replaced with JJ's and have been breaking it in for a client. Firstly, the bias feature is terrific. Easy for anyone to adjust on the fly.
Secondly. Theres a bkend knob so you can use the EL84' or the 6V6's or blend between them.
Third, there's a wattage knob for each channel that goes from 1w to 30w. You can essentially choose at chich point the tubes start to distort. Amazing feature, esp considering you can have a differemt Wattage for each channel and switch between early or late on either channel with a toe tap.
4th, and most imoortant, point- this amp is very touch sensitive plugged straight in. I have several fenders and a vox that I A/B and none compare in this department. The tone and gain knobs give a whole lot of range, and the "Bright" and "Tight" (bass response) switches give 4 more tonal options to each channel.
Fifth. Its loud and aroud, even at 1w you can exceed 90 dB easily. The stock Egnater custom speaker is killer. Dunno what it is, but its sooo nice.
6th, Excels at cleans and takes OD pedals as good as a Twin Reverb.
Lastly, Reverb is also very nice, with different setting for each channel. Not as drippy as a true Fender spring, but better than most amps.
Dont tell anyone, just buy it before the prices go up.
