Excellent

This snare drum features a classic Yamaha copper shell style (see Roy Haynes or past SD6455 nouveau mid 2000s) along with a double-parallel strainer which gives an incredible control. Unfortunately, I played it via a friend and it is not easily available throughout second-hand used items in Europe. Definitely a main piece of art.

Good

As a hobby bass player, I was looking for something to build/revise almost from scratch. I encountered this cheap Asian model and wanted to see its full potential. So I changed electronics, tuning machines (2 out 4 were broken), put some standard Fender Mexican pickups, changed the pickguard (just for visual effect) and it really astonishes me. Well, it went through a full luther revision (including frets rectification) as it was quite unused and it still represents a good workhorse for those who better master the art of playing precision basses, or a true friend for see how far you can go while learning this instrument. There are defo better modern instruments for that price-range, so my has been an attempt of doing something just for the pleasure of revising something that was in bad state.

Good

Good quality and compromise for its price range. Got it as first snare drum along with its kit. It gets way better with improvements such as head choice, nylon washers and different hoops (e.g. 2.3mm). Tuning lugs and precise simple snare machine do their job.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Remo Coated Ambassador on top, Ambassador snare side hazy on bottom.

Excellent

Got it 11 years ago while I lived in Istanbul. Awesome standard Yamaha maple shell. Between a 5.5 and a 6.5, perfect blend. Great tuning lugs and die cast for optimal tuning range and focus.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Coated Ambassador, Fyberskin 3 diplomat or Remo Suede on top; Ambassador snare side hazy bottom.
