Vintage JMI 1964 AC30 Super Twin with Goodmans Axiom speakers
Out of his time capsule, this amp could not be played without firing hazard. But after a neat repair from an old tube amp doctor it's a nice amp. No 3 band eq, no master pot, no channel footswitch, no loop, and no reverb on mine. If you really want this amp you have to be prepared to play with a straight sounding amp. You can't tweak a lot of things on this and only can crank the volume on one of the 3 channels (normal, top boost, and tremolo/phaser). In fact, tweaking is useless. Tone is good in every channel. There is only a high cut at the end of the circuit path, common to the three channels, and a 3 positions tremolo/phaser speed switch. Crank it up and you have a good creamy distortion very reactive to your volume pot and pick play.

my '62 caught fire once, I feel your pain.... nice AC50 cab, does your AC50 cabinet have the Midax horn tweeter, and if so do you have it hooked up? What about speakers? Blues or Greenies in the cab?

Hi jim. Mine has the midax horn with big alligators clips to hook it to the circuit. With the horn the sound is very harsh. Without It's clean but not very bright. I would like to find a schematic for a passive attenuator circuit for the horn only. The speakers are Goodmans Axiom (there is a little cone coaxial to the main one) : nice speaker also for home hifi use. This was used by vox before switching to the blues or greenies. Not as collectible as the blue bulldog but good sounding. I have two other smaller cabs to compare : One is a modern chinese made and is very boxy and the other is a vintage Vega and is overly bright. The vox is by far the best speakers I have.
