The guitar was designed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - in cooperation with Switch Music (R.I.P.) in Modesto, California. That's right, one of our own staff here at Foilchewer designed this guitar for a Pittsburgh-based Professional Paintball team back in 2001. REVOLUTION was owned and operated by PB Fanatics - a defunct and long-gone online paintball supply company.

This guitar was a joint promotional effort between Switch Music and Team Revolution for paintball tournament raffles and online sweepstakes. We're not sure how many were produced by Switch but we estimate under 800. In addition to the red one you see pictured, there were black and silver models produced with REVOLUTION graphics. You'll also find trem and stop tail combos out there as well as unmarked/solid color guitars that share the same shape.

This dirty analog octave-up effect is designed to drive your dirt chain, with the single-knob octave blend control giving you the ability to adjust the wet / dry mix of the effect. The added presence of the dirty upper octave works particularly well with downtuned guitar and bass.

Controls

Octave: controls the wet/dry mix of the dirty octave-up effect with your input signal. Run it at max into your favorite fuzz for modern doom metal style octave fuzz tones or back it down into a rodent-based distortion for a more subtle octave swell with increased sustain.

Power

Use only a standard 9v DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative-center barrel. An isolated power supply is recommended. Power supply not included.

Combining concepts from the two most recognizable fuzz tones known. The FU-2 pays tribute to the vintage Japanese Superfuzz circuits, while providing the powerful sound of the legendary Hyperfuzz. A modern classic that instantly gets you the “Wizard” tone!

4 simple controls provide a legion of sonic possibilities. The LEVEL control has plenty of output on tap to be able to drive your amplifier further into saturation. The EXPANDER control changes the amount of internal gain in the pedal. A two-band BASS/TREBLE active Baxandall tone stack provides +/-20dB, a crucial part to fine-tuning the sound in a live or recording scenario.
