yeah im looking at used synths but always wanted a vintage analog or VA cheap synth if there are any.

like a classic 80s analog poly? If you don't need knobs the roland alpha junos, JX series and certain mks series racks are still a great value though not as cheap as they should be. I had a JX8p I didn't care for the sound of. I've had an mks50 for YEARS, alpha juno in a rack. I recently got an MKS30 and pg200 controller which is a jx3p in a rack and I gotta say the 3p sounds better than the 8p, I have no idea why because I'm pretty sure they use the same oscillator and filter chips. But for your issue the problem is probably price. The synths I mentioned are about the 500 USD mark on average, soemtimes lower.

If you want knobs and VCOs I feel like for somewhere between 800 and 2000 USD the Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 is a fantastic value. You want a gligli modded one. You will probably have to have the plastic pots replaced eventually when your kid breaks a knob off (yes, I may be in this situation, ahem) and you can also get a stereo voice spread add on if you're good with drilling a second output jack into it... but the basic voice of the synth is fantstic. Pure amaerican curtis filter goodness. Drifty, lush VCOs and a softness even at snappy, harsh settings. I would not hesitate to buy one, in fact I didn't. I snapped mine up for $1000 and would do it again.

The korg Logues sound very vintage. TOwards the 'neutral' side of the equation but still vintage sound and vintage routing. If you can live with 4 voices and no Multi Engine (a very unvintage digital oscillator) the Minilogue can be had used for peanuts and is VERY VERY good. Another option in 4 oscillator world is the DSI mopho X4. Love mine. Has a late 80s 'synth on a chip' sound. DCOs, very unch and agressive. Huge routing options. Costs about 700 USD used. Minilogue is cheaper but less capable and far less agressive.
