yes man! first i record to all side, second break the cassette , then paste the tape repeat it for many cassette and final... let them play and see what's happening! :)

it's really cool to manipulate drones

seems like a lot of trouble, but if you're having fun with it?

Sure do. I also use the old endless cassettes. I've got several crappy little tape decks just so i can.

Amulets does a ton of tape concrete.

He puts together some really ambitious live shows too. You can find his stuff on YouTube, etc.

YES @xaqary !!!! in fact... Me and Amulets are of the same label, springbreaktapes from L.A. ! listen to something :)

P.S. even Hainbach, is magic with cassette tape

Haha, nice. Small world! Hainbach does great stuffs I found him a while back on YouTube.

Mylar Melodies did a video on the Morphogene that was fuckin' sick too. Might have been the last domino to fall before I join in on the Modular fun.

Grouper does some killer stuff as well.

I've stepped back from generative music lately but it's baked into me. 1st instrument i fell in love with was tape. Just came across my tape concrete pieces from school from nearly 20 years ago while re-organizing the studio.

you like a modular synth?? p.s. grouper <3 I played with her in the Italian date

I'm slowly coming around on modular if only because I know it'll try & swollow me whole...I'm running outta fight tho. It just looks too fun. I started on a Serge 20 or so years ago but haven't thought about getting back in until lately.

This pushed me over the edge tho:

Nice! Liz is awesome. She's from my area-Oregon/Portland. We've also got Smegma in addition to a bunch of killer talent out this way.

Guess I missed Genesis P Orridge last night. Fuckin' Bummer but i was too dead tired to make it.

Awesome video!!! I understand about modular .. they're a different world, which must be discovered with patience!

when you want, take a look at our page: https://www.facebook.com/powwow.stream/

and if you are going to make a live ..... you just have to ask! p.s. Portalnd is the best

Yeah, as my board on here likely tipped you off I'm broke! Only a mater of time till I get into modular tho.

Ah, i saw Hienback posted a quadraphonic video but I forgot to check it out & I just found the live footage of another quadraphonic video on your page. nice!

There's an old quadrophonic mixing console up the road in Olyimpia, Washington at Evergreen Uni. & I was lucky enough to check out ages ago. Loved it. Loved it, loved it, loved it.

Where are you located?

I live in italy powwow is an international team (italy-germany-netherlands)

ambassadors from all over the world!

I never used a quadriphonic mixer ... would be a dream..

Hopefully be back over in Europe soon maybe we'll run into eachother-

Keep me posted on new projects/releases!

Yes, I've made cassette loops for either drones or beats or what have you. It is very fun in a low tech way. I'd say have at it to anyone, as at worst you ruin a cheap tape. "Walkmen" can be found very cheap, too, so why not?

Last week I'd was running 1 chord or note per track on my Tascam 388 with subtle variations & and then "playing" the faders, eq,vari speed, sends, back into Ableton.

Hella fun...

tho I wish it was a bit easier to run longer tape loops on- the way it's recessed makes it tricky.
