A bomb in Jakarta

About half an hour ago, me and my buddy want to go to some local music store (I just want to hang around while mu buddy want to bought some string, capo, and cables), until my mom phone me and asking me to stay where I am because there is a bomb on a central place in Jakarta. I turned the tv and watch the news, saying it's a suicide bombing. Fortunately there are no dead victim reported. You can see the amateur camera filmed here https://youtu.be/qRhXeGM-4RU

Good luck out there and stay safe!

Thanks mate! Appreciate that

yeah man, don't go out without your helmet and flack jacket.... but seriously, is this sort of thing normal in Indonesia? we don't hear about your country a lot in the American media so I always assumed it was fairly peaceful like Singapore and Thailand. Good luck.

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard

My mom literally locked us on our house lol. It's not really normal here until about 1998 (there is a revolution back then, not really remember it, only 5 years old). And as I recall 2002 changed the history of our country. Our country used to be a very peaceful country. But don't worry if you plan to go here, just avoid Jakarta and Bali (I recommend you to Lombok, Jogjakarta, and Raja Ampat if you plan to go here. Googled it and you'll find out why)

to be honest, I can't imagine I'll have cause to visit the east in the future on business and I couldn't afford to on vacation. Airfare is expensive, man. And a cheap, kid friendly trip to Disney World leaves more guitar budget. I'm not sure my toddler's ready for Indonesia on vacation.

Keep safe and those fools weren't very clever, 5 of them are dead and I think they only killed two cops so least it was a failed attempt as far as terror attacks go.

I've hears this is common in Indonesia, is this true and if its ISIS like the UK media claim then why attack a predominantly muslim country, makes no sense though, they ain't the most clever people around.

I don't really understand why a predominantly Iraqi insurgent movement would go abroad to attack any country that wasn't occupying Iraq.... its a waste of manpower and resources that, even if successful, is only likely to turn world opinion further against your organization. I don't think that these ISIS folks are that dumb. They wouldn't still be pestering my country's army of occupation so effectively if they had that little military sense and political acumen.
