Add Artist Request Whereabouts

how do i know if an add artist request has gone through? i made one recently but never received a confirmation email that it would be checked through nor can i find the request anywhere on my profile. sorry im new to this site so i might be dumb and missing it.

i made it for Hanuman and BuzzMothers guitarist Ryoichi Yamada because he has a fantastic guitar tone but it’s really hard to find information about it because he’s japanese and it was 15 years ago but ive managed to find all his main gear over the years and want to add him to this website to document them. while i put a bunch of sources on how he’s a notable musician since thats what it asked i forgot to put any of the things for the gear and tone etc, so also would not having that prove to make it an unsuccessful request?

You’re not dumb at all, the system isn’t very clear about that stuff. Usually there’s no confirmation email, and requests can take a while to get reviewed. If it’s not on your profile, it’s probably just pending in the background. As for the content, not including gear details shouldn’t automatically reject it — they mainly care about notability first.

everything is my fault, or maybe all mods' faults, personally I get busy and approve artists in fits of activity between work and family stuff... but this is a labor of love, no one is making their living from it, so we try our best but cannot dedicate time to it regularly, it'll always have bottlenecks

personally, and tis is where it becomes my fault, I don't approve artists quickly that I have no personal knowledge of, I have to set time asside to research the value of adding such and such bedroom producer (for example)... I tend to bias towards performing bands/artists because they're easy to verify if I'm ignorant of their work, you can find stuff about their performances and as we've been saying sinc ethe 90s, if you're not gigging you're not relevant

that's me, sorry kidz, too old to change

they mainly care about notability first.

notability or professionality, professionality being music as a sole or at least primary livelihood... notability goes without saying

EDIT: I get frustrated and quit after a few artists who have submitted themselves, I can tell; see, we're not an EPK resource for your hopes of a career, trust me you won't have one, its way rougher than when I was out there and it was rough then. EB won't help you. Get a million dollar investor or go home in this environment. I don't want to clutter the site any further. I wish you all the luck in the world, but we're not here to make you look legit, and looking legit without money is just getting your hopes up. I don't mean you specifically, I don't know you, I'm just using the royal YOU

PEOPLE! DO NOT SUBMIT YOURSELF, JUST NO! get yourself submitted by a stranger, then you can have some pride in your achievement of having at least a couple fans or at least someone curious in your original sound. Isn't that better because its genuine?

oh ok all good, i guess i can assume it went through but just hasnt been reached yet. how long do you think itll take?

thanks for your reply

Just a follow up on this! I also submitted an add artist request for a couple members of a band I like. The band is already on equipboard (Locked Shut) with their singer and I am trying to add their guitarists. Has anyone given thought to adding a request tracker so we can see where requests are at? I've been on equipboard for a couple years and added new equipment and equipment to artists etc. As my first time adding an artist, this may be most confusing / least transparent process on equipboard. Just wanted to share my input to this thread and hope to get an update soon!

the requst queues are huge, they ebb and flow but are always a lot to keep up with as there are limited mods and we all have time consuming day gigs we need for our survival in or out of music. Equipboard is a break-even labor of love for the admins and mod squad, that said, let me know what band you're talking about and when I have a sec I'll find the request and review it... just a heads up, personally I tend to aprove more add gar requests than artist requests because I know more about gear than musicians who became notable after say '05, I'm middle aged and don't seek out new music in large quantitues and rely on recommendations from people I trust, so I don't feel competent to aprove many artist requests, I've hardly heard of anyone younder than me, nothing against them, just saying

Hey, I appreciate the explanation! I wish there was a way to make it easier for y'all too and I'll do some thinking on some suggestions to help with that queue. Totally understand it as a labor of love, and I love adding the gear and making it better because I think it's fun.

The band is Locked Shut which is already on equipboard, and their guitarists I wanted to add were Luke Fiadino and Bradley Hutchinson!

alright, I'll try to find your requests in the 23 pages of artist requests, there's no search feature so It'll be a hot minute

Take your time, I had no idea it was this backed up and appreciate you taking the time!

can i assume since youre offering to review the artists this other person submitted that the artist i submitted (ryoichi yamada) was rejected? if so, how come i wasnt informed, or do you just not get informed of these things? also do you get informed of why because i believe the artist i submitted was more than worthy for this website. it's funny actually, the show in japan i watched a week ago of him with his new band had tens of people after the show reaching up and trying to take photos of his pedalboard, and one of the staff had to tell everyone off 
