All about me!

Hi! I’m Nathan Etes, I’m a 16 year-old Artist and Producer based out of Wisconsin. I started music production as a hobby back in 2021 during COVID-19 and since then it has turned into much more than a hobby. I always seek inspiration and Equipboard has been one of my favorite sites so far because it has helped me decide what I should have in my studio. I look up to Billie Eilish and Her brother, FINNEAS, so much and when I first started I came across this site and looked at their gear. Anyways, I make Alternative/R&B inspired music and I have 2 albums and some other work out on all streaming platforms. My main instrument is definitely piano, I’ve been playing for almost 9 years now and though I’m definitely not a prodigy piano player, It for sure has helped me understand the basics of writing music. I’ve worked on my career so so so much since then and I finally feel confident in my profession and that I have potential, because it used to be so hard to be confident when I was starting out. Kids in middle school would make fun of me and play it during class and laugh at it, but it was all worth it in the end because I overcame it without running away. Another fun fact about me is that I absolutely love teaching myself new things, I mean, I seriously built my entire knowledge of producing music MYSELF! When I was still in public school I was in band and orchestra, I would often beg my mom and dad to let me get another instrument that I had no clue how to even hold, but I always ended up figuring it out. Right now I’m teaching myself sound design! I recently bought a bunch of synths, I didn’t even know how to use them or what all the buttons even mean, but here I am teaching myself sound design now!
