Anyone released music via NFTs?

Has anyone here released music via NFTs? How did it go?

GEAR:
  • EarthQuaker Devices Westwood
  • Fender '57 Custom Champ
  • Fender American Original '50s Telecaster

That's a thing? My friend and I are experimenting with our comic via NFT but music? Hmmmm.

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

Oh yeah. Check some of these projects out:

From what I've read, there is a lot of hype around NFTs being able to cut out label middlemen, be a mechanism for paying out royalties, rewarding early fans, etc.

But I'd really want to hear from artists that don't have the following of a Shinoda, Zedd, Aoki about how it went. It seems like you could use blockchain/NFTs as a crowdfunding mechanism just as easily as a kickstarter to fund a tour or recording sessions as well.

Gramatik is an artist who has been a big advocate of cryptocurrency and NFT. He’s directing his followers to stream his music on Audius, which uses its proprietary $AUDIO currency, while also releasing visualizers as NFTS:

A few of his songs reference cryptocurrency: “Satoshi Nakamoto”, “Future Crypto” and the newly-released “Just A Scribble”, which samples a Nic Carter interview.

Thanks for this! Very cool. He's definitely an early adopter.

Seems like the floor on all his NFTs are pretty high. Do you own anything from his projects?

Gramatik gives his audience the option of downloading all of his music as free MP3s, so I just do that. Plus, you can just download the NFT video files off of the NFT page.

Personally, I’m still skeptical of blockchain. I have yet to acquire any cryptocurrency or NFT.
