Destroy Chappers?

http://equipboard.com/pros/rob-chapman

Look at this. 198 pieces of gear, and hardly any of them are owned or used in his band, Dorje. The majority of submissions were based on DEMO videos of products that were owned by Andertons Co., not by Rob himself.

To remedy this, I think we should just destroy the artist page for Rob Chapman, especially as a URL. Once done, we start anew by adding gear that he USES, NOT DEMO'D.

As a side suggestion, we should put in the submission rules to not submit gear for an artist that is demoing gear unless it is explicitly known that the gear is owned by the artist or he/she uses it in studio/live.

There was some moderator discussion around this a while back. Here's what I posted and we agreed on:

I don't think we should deny these items.

I do agree it would be nice to separate these kinds of items, where someone just does a one-off review and doesn't actually use the item on a regular basis. Since this is a bit of an edge case though, I don't think we can devote our limited development resources on addressing the problem at the moment.

What I propose, for now, is that we tag the items in some way in the submission notes. Perhaps something like:

#product-demo

Doing that doesn't require any development time, and it allows us to find these submissions at a later date should we end up building out a way of separating them from other content on the artist's page.

It's not every day someone elects to kill a hippy. I think we just made history.

And pray tell, how is Rob a hippy (Other than his hair, we get it)?

Destroy Chappers is now my new band name.

And pray tell, how is Rob a hippy (Other than his hair, we get it)? He's into sacred geometry, lives on coffee, has some attachment to Buddism, wears sandles, and made up his own language and alphabet to describe ideas and concepts. All he lacks is some cheap Mexican import brew and a rusty scrap iron statue and he's in the club for good :)

...

Everything but the coffee argument, that proves nothing.

No one would live without coffee...
