Do record awards count as gear?

I've seen a lot of posts on musicians equipboard's with RIAA certification records, etc. I'm wondering if this should count as gear, as it doesn't change their playing, or sound.

I vote no. It's not gear. It's just junk, art at the most extreme. If we don't stop it here, what neck?

Boom's right, It's not gear, and that is pretty much junk for this site. It's as useful as the My Guitars submission or a Nike submission.

I agree. Could the mods please come up with an answer/rule clarification, because it is becoming quite widespread.
