Loop Pedal Users

hi everyone thought that i would create a forum for talk about everything loop pedal from Ed Sheeran to what are the best loopers. please post anything you want to talk about loop pedal related and someone else or i will help you out thanks and enjoy

I bought a Boss RC-20XL a year ago, and I'm just now starting to work with it at home, before I use it live. It is a great machine, and once I get it down pat, it will really add a great deal to live solo and full band performances.

To answer your question, it seems that people tend to favor Boss loop pedals, and I can definitely see why, but there are a lot of them on the market. I tried one out at a music store before buying mine (used), so I'd recommend trying out a few before you make your final purchase. I do recommend the RC-20XL though.

yeah i already own the rc 3 which works like a treat for what i need and yeah people do seem to favour the boss ones, i wonder if that is because it is hard to find other company's that do them or is it just because its boss and their considered the best

I was wondering what kind of looping pedal DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist use. If found a picture of Cut Chemist with his pedal, but I'm not sure what it is. Is this a Boss pedal?

hi @nutritiouspig (awesome name) yeah from looking at the picture i am pretty sure, if not certain, that it is the boss rc 50 loop station

Ed Sheeran is talented with the looping, but from what I can tell he keeps it rather clean and fx-free. I've always liked seeing the types of things Howie Day does with a couple of Line6 DL4s in combination with his other effects. He uses one for guitar and one for vocals. Worth watching if you haven't seen it before, nice shots of his pedalboards too.

yeah that video is pretty cool but i think that after eds first album being an album with very little effect wise he has a sort of reputation, for being just clean acoustic, but yeah i do get your point. maybe someday he will add a few effects to board.

Yeah definitely not saying what Ed Sheeran does is bad by any means. I think he's more charismatic than Howie Day and his music has a much broader appeal, hence all his recent success. Sheeran dances on that loop pedal like crazy (and that fucking Chewie Monsta is so cool looking), so he def knows what he's doing. I just like seeing different uses of looping combined with other effects 😄

Thanks! :)

That definitely looks like the Boss RC-50. I just read this review about the Boss RC-50 and now I'm really interested in knowing what the differences between the Boss RC-50 and the Boss RC-505 are.

Do you have any experience with either? Maybe I should see if that guy wants to chime in?

yeah i think the biggest difference is the rc 505 is much more digital but yeah i don't actually know do you know spacem8

yeah i think your right there. and yes he definitely dances in his loop pedal. but i would be interested to see if he could play the songs without a loop, even though i know he kinda needs one. i would also like to hear him with a few effects aswell

hi again watching this video it seems that it is made for hand use rather than floor use and it has a few effects on it as well as just being a looper. and when you set the tempo on it it reads how many beats are in it per minute. that video is really useful you should watch it.

hi everyone just wondering does anyone know how to build a good custom loop station or any videos on how? thanks com123

this video is kind of cool
