Movies That NEED A Sequel

I keep running into this thought here lately. What movies do you feel deserve a sequel or you feel would take the box office by storm with a sequel?

Picks off the top of my head. Some need some splain'n. Others do not.

  • Talladega Nights

  • Kung Pow (It's actually being made right now)

  • Conan the Barbbarian

I have to explain this one. I love the original and the remake was decent. We never got a Red Sonia the way we all thought we were getting. I think Conan needs to come back and it needs to be NC-17 or R. Im pretty sure it would do well so long as they kept it an action film. Now is not the right time to have an adventure film.

  • Aliens

I have to explain this as well. Alien and Aliens are the best films in the RS series hands down. I own the special edition of the series and as a kid, liked Aliens but I didn't know there was more footage. Watching the additional 45 minutes or so of footage really completes the journey of this film. Alien 3 went so far off in the wrong direction. Alien was at it's best when it was either a slasher film or an action film.

  • Kill Bill

KB3 Would kill at the box office . I've always wanted to see CCH's little girl grow up and fight B. KB3 Would be the perfect ending to the story. Maybe have BB become an assassin as well and turn on her mother as per her Dad's brainwashing? She could kill the bride and end the story.

Inception. It had a prequel that I need to watch, but as one of the most mind blowing films, both in plot, and action, effects, etc. I'd love to see how it pans out, but then it could be good left as a mystery. Now I need cut myself out of EB or I'll end up in limbo, which will probably be somewhat similar to NAMM, and I'll spend the entire of eternity discussing rackmount delay with Rob Chapman. Luckily the brilliant (ly sh*t) tones of the new waza craft amp, will shock me right up.

There's a tonne more, I have just forgotten them, I'll make a note next time I think of them.

Eyes Wide Shut. Well, only more of the Nicole Kidman naughty parts!

SO I ahd never seen EWS all the way through until you posted this, Ebow.... so I watched it and....

she was barely in the really naughty parts and she barely got naked (and it may have been a body duble, the shots were strangely oblique).... what a let down, Kubrick! I was promised a dirty-old-man film with Kidman and instead I got a relationship movie with some interspersed pockets of fetish porno. Addtionally? WAY TOO MUCH TOM CRUISE - BAH! Talk about "Mission Unwatchable."

by the way, I hate Keith Urban! He gets to ball Nicole Kidman whenever hes not touring (and shes not making a movie so maybe its only a handful of actual encounters a year, still tis more than I get to bang her) AND he has an amazing guitar and amp collection. He leads a charmed life. Maybe he'll be in the sequel to EWS giving NK a right good spanking with a vintage LPjr until she turns heritage cherry. But still I hate him. Lucky motherfucker. No one deserves that much good fortune unless its like Ghandi.

I am a changed person after reading that post.

"Spanking her with a vintage Les Paul Junior until she turns heritage cherry"

WTF...strangely funny, but all the same!

would it make you feel better if I said "j/k" ?

I mean, Urban is a huge LP jr fan.... and huge portions of eyes wide shut were directly lifted from "The Story of O." Not a big leap there.

Oh shit.... you're 14. And a dedicated christian. Unread that, bro. I never said that. Do you want me to try to "jedi mind trick" you?

Hey its good, I just don't think anything could've prepared me for that :) One of the things with the web that annoys me is that you can't get tone of voice across. If you'd have heard me say what I just wrote you wouldn't have posted that if you get what I'm saying.

Yeah, the web and text messages can be very difficult. As a musician and sound engineer I am incredibly auditory and that probably makes me more susceptible to "text based humor confusion" than other people. I love the printed word and its undeniable power, but just like a speak and spell can be moded for musical purposes but it will enver replace a singer, humor that sounds funny out loud because of tiny vocal inflections can be denuded of intent and wit when rendered in print.

Yeah Keith Urban is a LUCKY mo fo indeed! Nicole is gorgeous. Why the hell she'd go for Cruise of Urban is beyond me. I can't stand Cruise. I do like the movie though. I've always had a fascination with secret organisations and societies. I wish they would have found someone else besides Cruise. Maybe Harrison Ford or Kiefer Sutherland. Have you seen the movie Dead Calm with Nicole K? It is seriously fucked up! One of my favorites though. Sorry there wasn't more Nicole in EWS. I felt the same way. That's why they should make a sequel! MOre Nicole!

I found eyes wide shut to be a piss poor thriller or a mediocre skin flick. Kubrick is too much the artiste to make a porno but as far as the actual story telling he was working way outside his usual idiom. Roman polanski he ain't.

Not that I can make a better movie.

If you mean " Roman Polanski he aint" I'd say your right. Kubrick has never sexually assaulted 13 year olds as far as I know ( look it up if you havent heard) . I hope if he does set foot back to the US they toss his ass in the can! I hate child molesters. I think Kubrick has some excellent visuals in his movies... not always clear on the plot, but eye candy none the less. So maybe he is a bit of the artiste! Nothin wrong with that! ;o) Except for the Tom Cruise thing... i really can't stand him.

I was just referring to film style. Polanski may or may not have done what he's charged with (if so, I hope they nail him even if hes 100, but not without a trial.... fleeing for decades does tend to make me question his protestations of innocence, but fair is fair, if I am ever accused of anything I would prefer not to be judged by public opinion until after my trial)... I am a huge Kubrick fan going back to Spartacus, don't get me wrong, but EWS kinda set out to be a Polanski-style steamy thriller with a little "Story of O" thrown in to make it extra controversial. It just fell flat at that. You want 2001 or full metal jacket? Call Stanley. EWS just showed the limits of the man's range...

Yeah... Full metal jacket and 2001 are fantastic! Are you a Ridley Scott fan? He has some pretty good stuff as well. Blade Runner, Alien, etc

Alien and Aliens I recommend all day long. I have the huge Quadrilogy box set that has an additional 40 minutes or so of footage for Aliens. It really enhances the film and it is a shame they couldn't release it in it's full glory.

Full Metal Jacket I'll watch until Gomer bites a bullet, then it gets boring to me. I just like the drill sergeant comedy.

while Blade Runner has nothing to do with Phillip K Dick's novella, I still love it, every version
