new cover, let me know how did I do?
I don't think you are hitting the high notes.

Much better. I like it.
Green day songs are not easy to cover. Here's my attempt to cover Greenday.

sure is, you have to pretend you're a mmidwesterner pretending he's in the clash.. and you have to hit your guitar so ahrd that wood chips fly off it every few beats!
It's more the range of notes and the ranges in volume on just about every phrase. I've never heard of anyone who did a very good cover of Greenday. Very few have covered the Stones well either.
By and large we are mostly hobbyists here and on all the forums. We will never be headliners, most will never get paid enough to cover the money they put into their music. Most will never be more than mediocre by professional standards. Most of the greats were headlining by their early 20's. It's not something they learned in books, they just had it. People can just tell when someone is great, and for most people, anything less sucks. But most people in the world can't sing while playing an instrument and post it online. So good or bad, we are still part of a fairly small and select group of amateurs. The day job is what pays the bills. Many a headlining pro from the 60's had lifetime earnings less than a manager at McDonalds. Joe Walsh was broke at one time. After Janis, where were Big Brother and the Holding Company? Greats like Bobby Hatfield and Louis Armstrong had to stay on the road playing small gigs until they died.
