Non-Music related products on EB?

I've noticed that there's a lot of material with reviews and such that have nothing or little to do with pedal boards and rack gear. Rifles, Cell Phones, sun glasses, tennis rackets, etc.

Is this encouraged?

Not really, but it kinda just happens.

Originally the site wasn't just for music; it had athletes and photographers and writers and all sorts, but the music side was the only part which became really seriously popular, so at some stage they dropped every other category and made the site solely based around music.

However the gear has stayed on as you pointed out; I think it's kept here so it can show artists' lifestyles as well perhaps? If someone wants to know what an artist does in their spare time other than music, we could find that out.

Personally I agree with you that it isn't necessary, but I think that is the reasoning behind all the extra gear.
