R.I.P David Bowie

Well, our respective exes have two things in common, juvenile impulsiveness and a teenager's attachment to social media. Mine can get so engaged with the internet that her whole life will fall apart if no one is minding the shop for her. I did get an amazing son out of the deal, so it ain't that bad I guess. Little dude's sitting on my lap all day today playing learning games on the PC while I surf EB in another window. That's why I post a lot. Work boredom and/or toddler-computer time. I need to do something with the rest of my brain when engaged in mind-numbing activities like billing medicare or playing Thomas the Tank engine repair with Lu for the billionth time. I have become a really good multitasker....

back to David Bowie, I shoulda never married a woman who doesn't like David Bowie. I like Bauhaus, but do I prefer their 80s cover of Ziggy Stardust to the original? God that's insane. Most musicians would have bolted when they realized their fiancé preferred a cover to a classic original...

Women look their hottest with a ponytail, no makeup, and some comfortable clothes that are easy to take off

Couldn't agree more on this

First of all, I am in no way being disrespectful to the David, and mean no offense.

What if he's not dead? Me, and a few friends were talking about this the other day, and I brought it up, because Lazarus didn't die permanently at least, in the Bible, he was dead for a bit, then came back. Also some of his relatives were tweeting #rise.

I know it's highly unlikely, and I can't find anyone else whose thought of this, because there's simply so much to go against it; David would never do a stunt like this, it's not his style, It would've got out sooner, the list goes on.

What do you thin...

What's that? He's living in Cuba, with Tupac? Attacked by the Illuminati? Jet fuel can't melt steel beams? Huh? Yes I am wearing my tinfoil hat!

I know it seems obviously not, but your parents didn't seriously call you Boom did they?

Actually my friend and I thought it could be a publicity stunt Monday morning but decided collectively that David Bowie stopped that kinda stuff back in the late 70s so hes probably dead.

No, in fact, they never called me at all :(

David Bowie is alive and running an underground crime organization with Nomi and Iggy Pop.

WOW! Sounds like quite a ride. It's really hard to find a good woman. I'm still married and I completely adore my boys. But If you marry the wrong person...life is hell. If you marry a mentally ill person..life will be hell. And if you marry a drug abuser/alcoholic....you guessed it! I'm truly sorry to hear about your experience. But you'll always have your music. No one can take that away from you.

I will say it is EXTREMEMLY difficult to write, record, or do anything music related when the kiddos are toddlers. But they wont always be so little. I've introduced mine to instruments and music and we have loads of fun! I love it when my eldest ( 2 years old) beats the hell out of his drum set! The best part is that when I croak I'll have to little boys that will be rockin Dad's old gear! Good luck to ya!

I've always thought Peter Murphy secretly wanted to be Bowie. But hey...who doesn't right? I will say that Bauhaus is a fantastic thing to witness live! Its like performance art with raw, experimental music. I love it! I always thought it was really cool that both were in The Hunger. I love the opening sequence to that movie. Bowie, Bauhaus, and BLOOD! AHhhhhhhhhh!

Man. What is it with the "dumb smart girl" thing. I think I'm married to one. Not that I don't love her but holy hell. She's absolutely brilliant, speaks 2 languages, extremely creative. But GIRL can't boil hot water! And she takes freakin 30 minutes to load the kids in the car! And there's only one way to do anything and that's HER way. Otherwise you're a complete idiot? Right?

Haha! Never seen that one! I LOVE Klause Nomi. What a freak! lol!

I didn't think it was a secret! I got the distinct impression from Murphy that he outgrew his Bowie phase and now wants to be the goth Peter Gabriel... well, he wouldn't say he's goth, he's too cool to admit he helped birth the goth scene even though admitting that comes with mad street cred in my book. But whatever Peter Murphy... carry on. Try not to drive when you're fucked up.
