Isn't Bitwig crazy cheap?

Like cheaper than just about everyone? It's Ableton-esk" is you're wondering. At least thats what i gather. Looks interesting-trippy GUI.

aww yeah, I wanna try bitwig, glad you mentioned that! I think everyoe in this thread should buy bitwig this weekend because its so cheap.... it apparent;ly has LFOs thatc an control like every native paramter or some shit:

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

hey it's not cheap it's $300 USD

Jim-

Who talks smack on AT? The make a bunch of great stuff. That was my bread & butter in the early days but I still use them now.

AudioTechnica was what finally got me off of the 57's & 58's tit.

I know you have sense in your head, but man iw as just tlaking to someone about the AT 40s eries versus the transofrmerless 414 and they were so set on how awesoe it is and how AT only makes budget mics for beginners that they wouldn't even consider trying a 40 and acted like my ears were broke. If you wanna use a modern TL2 414 then I would rather have an AT4050 end of story Sounds better. On everything. NOT A BEGINNER MIC, but man the 20 series sounds close for enxt to o scratch. And the AT4047? shit dude, sucker hangs with a classic old 414, its just fixed pattern so that's a bummer.

Jim seems like he knows you better but I'll take a stab at it.

can you ever really know somene?

I hope the next post we see from you is you super psyched cuz you just finished your 1st recording with your new gear.

yeah

Welcome to the rest of your life. I haven't looked back since i was recording into one portable stereo then playing it back while recording onto another so I could get 2 whole tracks!

oh man, thatw as so ahrd to do in a band situation, like you would have 1 crappy set of headphones, it was so nuts... remember your first band? you would try to get all the drums and bass onto those 2 tracks with whatever microphoens you could scrounge and maybe that shitty 1/4" only radioshack 'DJ' mixer you got at the pawn shop for 20 bucks???? you're like "this one is going to sound killer, I close mced some drums!!! And you would just jam bass in direct with no DI, right into the RCA on the tape deck with some bulshit adapter

kids don't come up this way anymore and tis a bummer, there's no struggle now

Doesn't Bitwig just look like fun? Reminds me of the Valhalla DSP mideset on GUI & I f'n love that approch. I'm absolutely gonna try it. How could I not?

I'll have to check that link in a bit. No idea why I'm awake it's like 6:30 here!?

This a powerful platform man. I've stayed out of a lot if the "what should I do insert blank" threads because I see seasoned pros offering fantastic advice only to have it ignored & watch the origonal poster slip back into dithering & indecision...

don't you know that ocne you're hands one xperience has been ignored over a million times online you get to eat free at the sizzler?! Rncid shrimp cocktail here I come!

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard

So you own a Sizzler?!

do theys till have the sizzler? I haven't passed one on the road in a decade.... I should have said red lobster, but the sizzler is a far funnier 80s seafood chain. Probably because I am a huge fan of that Alan Arkin movie "slums of beverly hills".

That just pisses me off...thems fighting words.

The 4040 was a godsend when I was a tot & it's still useful today. It's in the same sessions as my C12, Royer, & Neumann's.

Idiots.

All the toys you see on my board kid? I could still make something good if you took everything but a guitar & an M-Audio interface & a freeware DAW. Don't even need a MIDI controller I can just use the querty keybord now...Hell, even just a 4 track. Oh yeah- You check that McGurk thread yet?

Hell yeah, love that flick...more after a nap.

they are idiots, I legitimately like every 40s eries mic! I stll religiously use audio technica on AC30s, I think that is a perfect combiantion and I've tried everything.

Got mine free last week.... Well Bitwig 8-Track comes with my nektar... Will set it up on monday and get a mini review going

GEAR:
  • Fender MIJ Jazzmaster JM62
  • Epiphone Dot
  • Electro-Harmonix Sovtek "Green Russian" Big Muff Pi V7C

Hell yeah, lookin' forward to it. I can't justify buying a copy but I've been super curious!

They don't offer a subscription service like PriTools, etc. to they?

OH YEAH! KID! You can just get a subscription DAW that's full featured!

ProTools is only $10 bucks a month!

I'll leave the googling to you to see who else out there offers a sub model...

http://www.avid.com/pro-tools/how-to-buy << I don't think so, it's $25 per month...I'm not a student of music college. My field is computer science. So I have to go for individual license. FL Producer is best choice as it has free updates forever...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5-16CdWmPU here's the review of CAD U37 mic...let me know what do you guys think about the recorded audio.

You don't need to be in any particular program, just have to be a student w/ a even kinda current student ID. Hell, you don't even need to do that! I'm not saying I would hustle the hardworkers @ Avid but you just need a current college ID & yer good. Same goes with most plugins...

Just don't fuck with FabFilter, I love those guys & they're already very reasonably priced & all around great to use...down the line of course...

seems functional, that guy should stick to singing, he obviously knows how to play the guitar some but I really can't stand his playing and its biasing my impression... the vocal and guitar sounds decent and that's a tough one with a single microphone. Maybe tis just that I don't like modern martins a whole lot. SO i am going to say the mic is a functional condesner that soudns like what you put it in front of if you have a clue about mic placement, yeah. Sure.

but tis not liek I cna play the guitar anymore, I decided to practice again and I swear I'm getting worse, not ebtter, my hands are all out of sync for anythign worth doing. Maybe ebfore you can be as good as you used to be you have tog et as bad as you were the week you started playing as a kid? Sorry, thread hijack. I've been ahving like amid-life guitar crisis all month or something. All ym stuff sounds so fucking good but I think I sound terrible.

GEAR:

outta time but I'll give it a listen when I get a chance (soon). Just go buy SOMETHING for shits sake after we do. YOU ARE THINKING TOO HARD.

😂 yea I'm also eagerly waiting to buy some stuff. But the payment is not yet done
