Top 3: Bands or Individual Artists You Wish You Could See Live

Living or dead. Together or not. Who are the top 3 you would most like to see?

Here are mine:

Boards of Canada – they're still making music, but rarely perform live and have never set foot in the US for a live performance. If they announced a show anywhere in the world tomorrow, I'd book a flight.

Led Zeppelin – I had a chance to see Page and Plant in the mid 90's and regret not taking it. That would have been a close second for me.

Pink Floyd – I've seen Roger Waters on tour for The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon, so it's close but seeing the whole back together in their prime would be something else. When I saw Dark Side, it was at the Hollywood Bowl and Nick Mason made an appearance, so that's as close as I'll ever get to the whole band.

Who are your top 3?

Numero Uno with a bullet, the fucking Beatles... also, the Beatles for number 2

and for number 3 I will go with Miles Davis

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

I've seen nearly everyone I would want to.

1. Metallica

I don't enjoy their new stuff, but I want to be at a live show at least once. They were the very first piece of music that spoke to me. I was 6 and they made a huge impression on me.

2. Garth Brooks

For old time's sake

3. Pantera

I don't agree with the lyrics or nature of their music now, but I would have really loved to have seen them.

saw the free Philly show in the 90s (I am from Philly), it was fun as hell, they were great... it was also before they laid too many eggs so the setlist was solid

2. Garth Brooks

For old time's sake

I would go see 'ol Garth with you... I secretly love country music

3. Pantera

I saw them in the 90s, they were abrasive and hard to take and I was a metal fan at that time... not deafeningly loud abrasiveness, just ear-ache FOH mix... dime was really impressive in person when I could make out what he was playing. His persona was so much more understated then his chops.

Sigur Ros

Honestly, their songs are like massive operas in itself when you're listening to just the album alone. The first song alone in Kveikur is such a powerful beginning to something massive, It's amazing. I'd love to see them in concert.

Steve Vai

Just once, I'd like to just see this man work his magic. People like he, Tosin Abasi, Joe Satriani, They're the people that I just want to see just once.

Dir En Grey

I'd want Slipknot, but I think these guys perform, at least to my ear, a lot better. They're guitarists lean a lot more towards rhythm, and I hope they can balance leads and solos soon enough.

I've seen Slipknot twice due to them being billed with others bands I went to see. I've not seen them do a great performance yet. Shavo from System of a Down mentioned that a major band toured with SoaD in their first tour and though he wouldn't mention the name of the band, he said they lip synced the entire show. Of the bands that were with SoaD their first tour, I think he meant Slipknot.
