track I did that has a lotta the stuff im explaining in it... (done with a lotta analog equipment, and a rompler for the piano / guitar soundin chords.)

Spaced out plucks and chords put into a random short timed delay with light feedback ran into another well medium timed delay with stronger feedback that syncs with the beat
also speaking on delay adjusting the time setting from up to down live to get that pushed out than pulled back in vibe which you can hear on sasha's involv3r which is pretty trippy. Most digital delays do a shit job at this, wave's h delay does it ok but most analog delay pedals u can get that.
slow tremeloated lfo's that control filters for a wah wah effect.
running percussion into a wild delay than putting a phaser on top for a watery splashy or pulled from the mud effect
pitching up over a decent amount of time like 8-16 bars
single shot sounds with a reverb with a ridiculously long decay reverb every 4-32 bars.
switching up your chords up into triplets (1/3) after playing them reg for a while.
a vocal loop (usually like to vocode mine all wet so it sounds like the synth is talking but I just make it real subtle.)
this may be just my taste, brick walled bass that really makes a lotta people feel the bass with most modern headphones.
