Why is it that subgenres can't be added to artist pages?

It's strange to me that user profiles can have genres as specific as Noise Pop and Psychedelic Folk, but artist pages are stuck with "Folk, World, and Country". Are there any plans to change this? Even just separating Folk, World, and Country would be an improvement.
