An aknowledgement of what you're trying to convey to me is considered kind.

In other news, I finally have car insurance! Now... Need to learn stick. I'll read everything soon.

Holy shot, guys, you lot made my invox explode. Ehat've you guys been doing in te forums?! My internet is down, so it's going to e a bitch looking through all these threads and all the quality corrections on Ghost BC page!

I'll grt back to what you guys said, just lettin you know my response will be delayed heavily.

I know wha you mean. I turned off forum notifications and my inbox still gets ran over

Now back to Khaki King, do you think she's single and liked toddlers? My therapist is on me to date again and I really think I am going to enforce a 'serious musicians only' policy... there's just no talking to non-musicians sometimes and that's no basis for a relationship as it turns out.

She's married and a lesbian :/

Right... Not a set list. Got it.

You know, there's something about Crossroad Blues with that slide to D that gets me. I took a music history class some time ago (hardly paid attention... probably should have). Robert Johnson was a favourite of mine. That and some of those 12 bar blues stuff was cool. Probably should explore that stuff.

What is it with these people always putting "blues" in the title? I never understood that in class.

the blues is a small pool of harmonic, metric and rhythmic musical forms, the 12 bar blues (major or minor) being the most famous and popular example.... blues has ceased to be a such a strict term except for in purist circles, but at the time it was a well established group of African American musical forms used in jazz, ragtime, gospel, country, some forms of folk and.... you guessed it, delta blues. Entitling your song 'insert adjective blues' was letting the listener (and, more importantly if you didn't bring a bunch of charts on the road, a pick up band in whatever town you were playing) know basically what form the structure would take... "This one's called the exploited strummer blues,' y'all.... key of Bb boys, take it away, 2 anda 3 anda 4!"

Ragtime music had a similar phenomenon.... hile ltos of forms could be turned into ragtime, there is a specific musical form know as a rag and most songs in this format have to titles like "blah blah blah RAG"....

I was just joking anyway... I didn't actually know she was gay, but I like KNEW she was gay! Hence the Lilith Fair remark....

She's still cute anyways

No regrets.

a guy in the biz I worked for had an extremely bigoted (but hysterical) term for these sorts of musicians.... LWAGS: Lesbians With Acoustic Guitars

The best thing that ever happened to music!

On a related note, I also liked Florence Welch with her long hair.

I should probably reconsider my tastes.

Lawrence Welk? whats that?

I wish... I've been a week without internet here. Anytime I visit a coffee shop for internet, it's to work, so I don't get much time to puruse anything outside my spectrum.

I think I have time today. I tried King Krule after Anthony Fantano's review (I don't get to listen to him too often). Definetely within my specteum. Definetely like his voice and the minimalism of his songs. Gotta expand.

uh huh

You'd be unpleasantly surprised how I get my internet. No, I won't say, because I neither have the knowledge regarding the exact details of how we do it nor the inclination to be sharing theae details. To say te very least, "we have a guy". Anyways, it's a problem on his end.

Don't let yourself think I forgot about that American Songbook.
