Anyone have experience with Harley Benton 212 cabs?

Anyone own or used one? How do they sound compared to a more upmarket or brand name cab? Getting a tube head next month but obviously need a cab for it too. From what I've read online the Harley Benton stuff by Thomann does seem solid for the price.

Any recommendations on other lower cost cabs to look at? Due to the UK covid-19 rules I'm unable to try anything before I buy and I can't see that changing at all for quite some time

GEAR:
  • Harley Benton TE-40 Deluxe
  • Bugera Vintage V22HD 22W Tube Guitar Amp Head
  • Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro

That is unfortunate that you can't try them. I haven't had any experience with them, but I have heard good things. Here is a video from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bEH4gKbT6E&feature=youtu.be from Know Your Gear. Most people seem to like it in the comments. Good luck to you. I hope that it works out for you.

GEAR:
  • Reverend Warhawk DAW
  • Gibson Les Paul Standard
  • Friedman BE-OD Deluxe

Even without lockdown I wouldn't realistically be able to try a Harley Benton cab, annoyingly as they're a Thomann own brand in Germany.

They do sound great though from what I've heard on YouTube. There's one going cheap near me so I think I'm just going to buy it as it really is a steal. I've listened to a few other cans in the same price range but the V30s is what really makes me want it. I just hate taking a gamble on stuff

Yeah I understand the fear. But sometimes it is worth the risk. I bought my amp and one of my guitars without having a chance to try them, and I don’t regret it.

So, I’ve just spotted one for sale locally to me for next to nothing. Obviously I’ve arranged to pick it up. Can’t wait to try it later on today.

I’ve bought most of my guitars past and present without ever playing them. Only guitar I regretted buying was a Gibson Les Paul as it’s just didn’t compare to my Epiphone Les Paul. I felt robbed 🤣

I hope the cabinet works out great. Let us know how you like it. I may look into getting one as well since it is a good deal.

I guess they send the bad gibsons to the UK these days....

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

That's debatable. I think Gibson have just lagged behind in recent years. Whilst Epiphone have improved hugely, Gibson QC has got sketchy. Saying that though, the new owners seem like they should see a good improvement on the QC on Gibson's

well, you get a lot of guitar for the money in epiphone compared with how much gibson you get so the answer is to spend mores moneys on these gitarrzes
