anyone know what pedals these are?

Maybe I picked the wrong song to play. I went 90s output, perhaps they've evolved.

Edit: this is from equipboard, "Duster replied to a comment on instagram, stating what tape recorders they used." So they do answer questions.

If Trent Reznor can be nice to us mortals then everyone ought to be.

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

I agree that this should always be the first move, for bands and artists that are current on social media. Even influencer-types who have social-media-only careers don't always answer questions in replies or DMs, but it's always worth trying.

... if they do reply, then you get to hit them with that creepy second question: "do you mind if I screenshot our private conversation so I can post it on this gear-tracking site you've never heard of?"

...total mood-killer...

This should be on a t-shirt.

GEAR:
  • Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer
  • Roland SH-101

I didn't know the OP was trying to set up a romantic evening lol

I could also do up a "what would Reznor do?" shirt... his classic hits have lyrics that raise a lot if funny answers. I wish I remembered where my silk screen was stored!

Can you name one Duster tune I should check out that exemplifies what you like about their music and tone?

Ha. I just meant that it would be awkward to then have to ask that artist, who was cool enough to respond, if you could screenshot their private/DM conversation so that you could then post it here on EB. I mean, the OP has no obligation to post any answers to EB as an official submission on that person's profile, but you know I'm gonna be like "screenshots or it's hearsay" when it comes time to rate said submission.

Life is mostly gray areas, and Equipboard is no different, and the amateur philosopher in me lives for the thought and finesse these gray areas require... but y'all know, when it comes to reviewing submissions, I can also get a little too Batman-ish (Commissioner Gordon-ish if we're being specific) in my standards-enforcement.

Dust off that ol' frame, the dream of the 90s can be alive in Philly too.

You say mood killer killer and Depeche Mode conversations, I'm thinking blind date with a goth.... dude, totally joking both times here. Philly humor.

Since you, fellas have been talking about Duster, I just wanna say a few things. First, yes, their sound did evolve over time. Second, what's specifically a "generic 90's band"? Because, believe me, they aren't as generic as they might look. Third, I don't know what kind of skate videos feature music as depressive and as slow as Duster. Also, here's some songs that RYM reccomends from them: Me and the Birds (from Contemporary Movement) Inside Out (from Stratosphere) Orbitron (from Transmission, Flux)

GEAR:
  • Blank
  • Boss BF-3 Flanger
  • Meteoro Demolidor FWB-20

I listened to stratosphere. Not my taste these days. I might have liked it more at the time. Imma check out the other tunes you mentioned when I have time again. Were you going to shows in the 90s?

Time to buy a turkey.

I wasn’t even born during the 90s, but my father was, though he was and still is more of a dad rock fan (no offense, though)

GEAR:

I had a feeling you were young enough to be my kid. I don't know what dad rock is supposed to mean so I can't take offense. I was just out making noise with some friends friday, some of whom are dads too, and between jams we were listening to Alec Empire's generation star wars... so I guess anything can be dad rock.

Did you ever try to contact the guitarists from Duster?

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

I don’t have a instagram account anymore, so no. Also, dad rock is, more or less, your typical 70s-80s hard rock/glam/heavy metal bands (AKA stuff like Guns n Roses, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Whitesnake, etc.).

GEAR:
  • Blank
  • Boss BF-3 Flanger

Well that's so broad. Basically anything that was on the radio when a genXer or a younger boomer grew u... and I guess older millennials too. If I were a boomer or millennial I'd be offended but I'm just mildly bemused.

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard

I can’t get over seeing a tuner in the middle of that chain. Not making fun. My GAS brain just thinks “wait am I missing something???? Is that some sort of secret tone trick???”

  • Greer Amps Lightspeed Organic Overdrive
  • Origin Effects Magma '57
