Assistance Required

I have a Joyo American SOund. I love the thing to death, which is why I was so distraught last night to turn it and get.... no sound at all. LED turned on, my compressor was in the chain as well, that's not working either. Took it out and tried again, still nothing from the Joyo. Battery powered, jacks look fine. What do I do?!

wait, when the pedals are disengaged everything works? If not, did you test all the cables? does the compressor work with the Joyo out of the chain? better detail

Compressor's jack barrel was bent, I fixed that. And... you'll never believe this, but the Joyo was wired up wrong. I put the input in the out and the output in the in.

I believe it. Quality control in China is non-existent... they don't make shit like they used to. one of the benefits of pushing 40 is that I scored tons of old stuff that was made with care back when it cost very little... it was obsoltete tech when i was a teenager!

Nothing you had to deal with should ever happen.... a jack shouldn't bend easily and a pedal should have its ins and outs wired properly.

I don't know how anyone can rely on recent budget gear. Its so shoddy, You need to go boutique these days to get something that was built with love and attention. Fuck China.

I advise people to spend more money and do less eating... when you're in your 20s food ad sleep are overrated, tis the time to spend big and get the stuff you need for a lifetime of must making. Get it as cheap as possible and care for it. As you get old it will still be there and your ability to replace any of it will get lower and lower.
