'Bass Guitar' Guitar Amp

What do you think would be the best-suited guitar amp for an octave-down guitar? I've had my heart set on a '65 Deluxe Reverb because I love the sound, but I wonder if there's another option out there that would handle the lower frequencies of a guitar with a Bass9 pedal - I like to play simple bass lines then loop them behind my regular guitar sound.

GEAR:
  • Electro-Harmonix Op-Amp Big Muff Pi
  • Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue 1x12 Combo Amplifier
  • Blank slot

Fender Bassman amps, over the years, have become renowned for their ability to handle both guitar and basses. Maybe you might want to give that a try and see how it stacks up against a Deluxe 'verb.

GEAR:
  • Vox AC15
  • Gibson ES 335 Studio Dirty Fingers Plus
  • Ernie Ball Power Slinky Guitar Strings (11-48)

I second the bassman.... for guitar duty the blackface and brownface circuits split the difference well and as a pedal platform the bassman50 and 100 are great for guitar and are better bass circuits for my buck, and of course the fender showman owns for bass and guitar, a twin without reverb with a bit more oomph... then there's the concert and super reverb 4x10 combos, Carol Kaye used a super reverb in the wrecking crew, the concert is quite similar, no reverb, a bit rare but not as desirable as a blackface super... other contenders are the ampeg V2, V4 and B25.... any classic hiwatt, 50 or 100 watts... selmer treble n bass 50... vox ac50 (60s only).... orange or120... it depends what sound you're going for, all these amps are really different but handle bass and guitar with ease

none of these amps are cheap anymore, but they're great old workhorses that are easy to repair

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp
