Cello Electric bass??

Hey guys, so Im a fretless bass player and I was wondering if there was something like a cello tuning string set that fits an normal jazz bass. If anyone knows where I could find such strings please let me know.

Regards Diego.

the cello is a smaller scale than the double bass... you would want lighter gauge strings at high tension on a fretless short-scale to approach electric cello tones, but cello is seldom played pizzicato solo for extended passages, its primarily a bowed instrument when its out front....

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

I would try some high tension, flat-wound strings first off and see how they feel and sound to you. I think that would give you a plucked cello tone.
